Assistant Management Accountant

My client is a leading SME business within the manufacturing, sales and distribution industry ideally located in LE3 area of West Leicester.
As part of the companies continued expansion FRS have been enlisted to assist with the recruitment of an Assistant Management Accountant on a permanent basis.
Reporting into the Head of Finance this position is the 2nd most senior position in the 3-person finance team.
Overall Job purpose
To Support the finance department to meet deadlines and to ensure all transactions are processed in a timely and efficient manner.
Duties
Transactional
Support and work closely with the accounts assistant to ensure purchase ledger, sales ledger, and cash book are up to date and reconciled.
Month end and Other duties
Complete the month end processing for review with the plant controller.
Review month end results on day one prior to submission.
Complete the monthly group submission file.
Some of the typical month end activities are accruals, prepayments, concur expenses, foreign currency revaluations and Monthly payroll journal.
Preparation and submission of Blackline reconciliations. These are typically submitted a day after month end results are finalised. Normally on day two or three.
Assist with the office of national statistics returns
Quarterly VAT submission
Year end
Support the year end close
Support the year end Audit
Support the year end Tax submissions
Payroll
Ensure the month payroll is submitted on time and checked.
Collate and review payroll submissions from HR and mangers
Complete the submission preparation spreadsheets and the ADP flexiform (Submission spreadsheet)
Ensure payments are processed for Monthly pay, Pensions and other payroll payments.
Liaise with HR to complete the P11D returns
Support the HR department on payroll matters.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar position and be working towards AAT / ACCA / CIMA if not already qualified.
Those that are QBE or stop studiers that have demonstrated experience will be considered.
This position is being offered on a permanent basis with a salary up to £40,000 excellent benefits and study support offered if required.
Working hours are Monday to Friday 8-4 which flex on start and finish time and scope to WFH will be offered.
