Assistant Manager, Balham
Salary c£45,000 p.a. + benefits
Successful venue in Balham, comprising of a bar (which provides casual dining, bar snacks and brunches) and events space (comedy nights, DJ nights, drawing classes, quizzes etc.) This multi-space venue spans 3 floors and includes a garden terrace, mezzanine and balconies, cinema, karaoke suite and boutique private hire rooms.
We are looking for an experience Assistant Manager with experience of working in a similar high volume, branded background.
We are currently seeking a motivated Assistant General Manager to support the General Manager. You will be creative, with good commercial knowledge, an effective leader with an entrepreneurial flare.
Responsibilities:
- Provide an exceptional front of house service to everyone who walks through the door.
- Mentor team members to provide the same exceptional service.
- Managing a team of 30 staff alongside the GM.
- Ensuring budgets and standards are met.
- Overseeing Profit & Loss.
- Drafting rotas
- Assisting the GM in recruitment, development and training of staff.
- Ensuring Health & Safety documents are in place and standards are met including fire safety, first aid, COSHH, allergy awareness etc.
- Identifying and escalating maintenance issues as they arise.
- Creating table plans, responding to guest enquiries and queries.
- Updating and maintaining the point-of-sale systems.
- Working with the general manager and bar manager on pricing and stock takes.
- Producing weekly reports for management, in order to achieve quarterly GP, sales, and wastage targets etc.
- Occasionally providing creative input on operations, marketing, social media etc. to Senior Management.
Requirements:
- Previous experience managing a high volume, branded venue.
- Ability to manage a team of around 30 staff.
- Must hold a personal liquor license.
- Experience using online booking systems, such as DMN Collins or similar.
- Positive and energetic.
- Lives within easily commutable distance of Balham.
