Additional Payments: 6.7% Flexibility Payment

An opportunity has arisen to apply for the position of Assistant Market Managerlocated at the Arndale & Church Street Market in the City Centre & Specialist Markets Team. This role is responsible for operational management of both these thriving City Centre markets.  

As the newest addition to our team, you will be welcomed as part of an experienced wider management team, working alongside two other Assistant Managers & a Market Manager Level 1.  

The post also has the additional opportunity to assist on the Specialist Markets team during October, November & December. The appropriate additional remuneration would apply at Grade 6 for this period. This is a brilliant opportunity to establish & develop event management skills whilst supporting the team delivering the Manchester Christmas Market.

With a combined budget of £5 million within the City Centre & Specialist Markets this is a very exciting opportunity for an applicant with experience in operational retail, hospitality, events or customer- facing management. Supporting with the management of a team of 10 FTE employees in various roles, the applicant needs direct people management skills and commercial skills to reflect the robust management the Arndale site requires. With 121 occupied business units and 70 traders to manage as part of the team this position also requires the need to manage the site facilities and the challenges that this frenetic environment demands.
