An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Museum Curator within the Culture & Archives team at North Yorkshire Council, which will be based at the Mercer Art Gallery in Harrogate.
The Assistant Museum Curator will provide specialist care of the NYC museum collections located at the Mercer Art Gallery and Royal Pump Room in Harrogate, along with the Courthouse Museum at Knaresborough Castle.
They will facilitate public access to the collection, organising museum-related audience development activity; and in collaboration with the Lead Museums’ Curator, offer curatorial advice and ensure policies and procedures are followed in line with accreditation standards.
The postholder will also undertake research related to collections and creative thinking to develop public engagement opportunities with the Harrogate collections, as well as our broader heritage across North Yorkshire.
This is a great time to join us as you will also be part of a new Culture and Archives team at North Yorkshire Council, which has seen the coming together of officers from across the county, offering the opportunity to share skills and collaborate.
