Due to our UK expansion plans, we have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Operations Manager to join Søstrene Grene's management team. This is a dynamic and varied job in a beautiful environment.

This is an active and varied role so you must enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and be self-motivated. You will be required to contribute and add value to the growth and operational strategy of the business and be flexible in your approach to travel and work tasks.
This role requires frequent UK travel to stores.

Description

STORE OPENINGS:

  • Support the Retail Operations Manager in streamlining the setup of new stores and devising and documenting best practices.
  • Support new store openings with planning, administration, stock ordering, recruitment, training, problem solving as required.
  • Liaise with all key departments involved in store set up.


RETAIL OPERATIONS

  • Key support in coordinating and overseeing the organisation's day-to-day operations, ensuring operational success.
  • A point of contact for stores in relation to day-to-day operations (work processes, training, deliveries, stock, store maintenance) and you will successfully coordinate a suitable resolution.
  • Supporting the Retail Operations Manager, you will forward plan for all eventualities to ensure operational continuity of the business; planning recruitment needs, succession planning, seasonal retail planning.
  • Supporting the Retail Operations Manager, you will continually review retail operations across the Group to ensure stores are operating according to Company guidelines and to a high shop floor and operational standard. Make recommendations and follow through on actions required if stores are underperforming.
  • You will be solutions focused, and continually improve daily work processes in the stores to increase efficiencies and improve customer experience.
  • You will support the effective rollout of new work practices across the Group.
  • You will be pivotal in planning for our seasonal Christmas trading period, ensuring that stores are well prepared for the Christmas uplift in deliveries and sales to deliver L4L growth.
  • Support development of training tools such as training videos and operating guides.
  • Support training sessions for stores on operational improvement areas.
  • Effectively make a difference on store visits.

STOCK OPERATIONS

  • Process new and existing stock orders using our suggested order system and/or sales reports.
  • Regularly review stock reports and liaise with store managers to manage their inventory effectively.
  • Transfer stock between stores and follow up to ensure data was successfully transferred.
  • Lead on regulation of stock using our scanners (upregulations, downregulations) and support on providing effective training to stores where required,
  • Support and lead on annual stock counts - planning, implementation.
  • Visit stores to assess their stockrooms and make recommendations.

Profile

You will report directly to the Operations Manager. You will have a passion for retail and operational standards, and will have a strong focus on the stock side of the business - stock ordering, reviewing stock reports, transferring stock between stores, annual stock counts.

Responsible, decisive, resourceful, personable, consistent, positive, proactive, energetic, excellent communicator, organised, flexible, IT proficient.
