Our client, a leading waste operator, is looking to recruit an Assistant Contract Operations Manager to assist in the operation of a prestigious waste contract in the Southeast. The contract covers kerbside collection, recycling and street cleaning.
Key responsibilities:
- Health, safety and welfare of all staff, contractors and visitors to site.
- Minimisation of impact to the environment whilst operating within the constraints of the sites permits.
- Delivering customer expectations in terms of service and product quality.
- Operating the site in an efficient and effective manner in line with annual budget requirements.
Candidate requirements:
- Previous experience in waste facility operations, ideally to include MRFs/Recycling Centres and/or transfer stations.
- Knowledge of the relevant environmental and health & safety legislation applicable to the operations.
- Experience and knowledge in managing large diverse teams.
- Experience and knowledge in delivering a first-class service to Local Authority clients.
- Some form of Health & Safety qualification such as IOSH or NEBOSH.
- Applicable CoTC / CCS qualifications.
- Numerate and IT literate, with the ability to use management information effectively.
- Experience of a professional and disciplined approach to management, working alongside operational teams ensuring performance expectations, service standards and people development are met.
- Evidence of the ability to identify and implement change programmes that have a positive impact on operational and business requirements.
