As we go through a significant period of change we are looking to appoint an Assistant Payroll Manager to assist & support the Payroll Manager in the accurate, compliant and timely processing of all aspects of the company’s monthly payrolls in line with the company’s policies & procedures.
Responsibilities
Team management, acting as a lead officer within the section, deputising for the Payroll Manager in their absence, as appropriate
Support and assist with high volume / multiple site payrolls, ensure payrolls are processed in an accurate, compliant and timely manner
RTi submissions
Pension processing and submissions inc Auto Enrolment
Year End procedures and reporting
Interpret current / new HMRC and Employment Law legislation impacting payroll, to include, however not exhaustive, NMW/NLW & Gender Pay
Support with Sage & Access software upgrades and developments
Assist with the training of staff where appropriate.
Investigate and resolve highly complicated, diverse and often sensitive issues relating to pay queries and to offer advice on such matters
Maintain confidentiality at all times in relation to the Date Protection Act 2018
To work within the Company’s Information Governance policies in order to maintain security of personal and sensitive data
Knowledge and Experience Required
Experience in the complete running and processing of high volume multi-site payrolls, in a fast paced environment
Supervisory experience
Pensions and Auto Enrolment processing
Knowledge of Sage Payroll is desirable but not exclusive
A keen eye for detail
Strong initiative
Proactive in responding to immediate queries
Enjoy working within a team but autonomy to work alone
Excellent Excel skills
