If you are a recently qualified construction Project Manager with the ambition to work on some of the largest and most exciting projects in the region, then we would like to hear from you in relation to this vacancy.

Henry Riley are currently partnered with numerous clients working on large scale, complex projects in excess of £100m in the Northwest region. These include signature medium and high-rise, city centre residential projects which will have significant positive impact in the local built environment.

You will work within a team of highly qualified and experienced quantity surveyors and Project Managers providing pre and post contract project management services to our clients. You will receive guidance and mentorship to develop and perfect your skills in this role, whilst being afforded all the opportunities to develop your career and progress within this team and the wider business.

Whilst doing all this, you will be encouraged to pursue your chartership with a respected professional body such as the RICS or CIOB. we can provide you with all the support and guidance you need to achieve this through our industry-leading APC Programme.

Key tasks and responsibilities of the Assistant Project Manager role include:

As an Assistant Project Manager in our business, your role will primarily be to assist senior staff in pre and post contract duties and the delivery of projects. Some of your day-to-day duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Monitoring and reporting on project progress
  • Attending project meetings and taking minutes
  • Stakeholder reporting and management
  • Involvement in the design process
  • Contract administration
  • Maintaining project files and records
  • Managing cashflows
  • Involvement in the procurement and tender process
  • Risk management
  • Change management

Desired skills, qualifications and experience:

  • A relevant degree or master’s qualification in construction project management, engineering, architecture or similar equivalent subject.
  • This is a construction project management role and we are seeking candidates with a specific construction related qualification and/or prior experience in a constructionproject management role.
  • Bright and ambitious with the ability to learn new skills, systems and procedures.
  • Confident and strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to act in a day-to-day client facing role.
  • A strong technical understanding of the construction process including how buildings are constructed, including the structural and design elements.
  • Experience of working on projects in the built environment would be advantageous – i.e. residential or industrial projects etc.
  • Familiar with the common forms of contract used in the construction industry, such as JCT and/or NEC.
  • Demonstrable experience of carrying out tendering and procurement processes.
  • Shares Henry Riley’s core values of ambition, integrity and progressiveness.
  • Strong levels of numeracy and literacy are essential.
