Assistant Project Manager - Trials & Testing

AWE has an exciting and diverse portfolio of core technical and scientific projects to deliver. We are looking for an Assistant Project Manager with an interest in engineering/technical project management to work in a Trials and Testing environment.This project supports a wider programme that is dedicated to nuclear cooperation between the UK and France. As an Assistant Project Manager, you will be providing support on a variety of trials from initial development, right the way through the project lifecycle.This is a fantastic opportunity to join us in our mission to ensure the UK’s defence capabilities.
Location: This role is located in Aldermaston, RG7 4PR, located in the Berkshire countryside between Reading and Basingstoke. There is some potential for hybrid working in this role.
Salary: From £38,140 depending on experience and suitability.

Whilst not to be considered a check list, candidates should be able to demonstrate some of the following:

• Experience working within a trials, testing, or engineering environment would be beneficial.
• Commercial contract knowledge or awareness would be advantageous.
• Clear and concise stakeholder management style, with the ability to compile reports and present to peers, Senior Managers, and external suppliers.
• Ability to effectively prioritise workload, resources, and deadlines within high pressure complex project/programme environments.
• An awareness of project lifecycle management.
• Understanding of project schedule management, dependencies, and risk assessment.
• Ability to solve problems and deliver results through creative solutions and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Positive attitude and willingness to be hands-on in a fast-paced, growing company.
• The desire to develop knowledge and application techniques of project management methodologies.
• Excellent IT skills including MS Office, Excel, and PowerPoint.

There may be the opportunity to travel within the UK in this role, up to 3 times per year.
This job role is suitable for hybrid working, which is an informal, non-contractual and voluntary arrangement, blending a balance of attendance in the workplace (your permanent duty station) and working from home as a personal choice. If you are successful, any opportunities for hybrid working will be discussed with you prior to you taking up your post. The successful candidate is required to carry out all their duties from a UK location and cannot do so from an overseas location at any time.
All candidates must be willing and able to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role. It can take several months for clearance to come through.
