Job Summary:

As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you'll be an integral part of their team, supporting their commitment to excellence in project management and cost control. Responsibilities:

Quantity Assessment: Assist in accurately quantifying materials, labour, and other resources required for construction projects, ensuring comprehensive cost estimates.

Cost Estimation: Support senior surveyors in preparing detailed cost plans and budgets, considering factors such as materials, labour, equipment, and overheads.

Tender Preparation: Contribute to the preparation of tender documents, including bills of quantities, specifications, and contract terms, in collaboration with project teams.

Supplier and Subcontractor Management: Assist in soliciting quotes from suppliers and subcontractors, evaluating bids, and negotiating contracts to secure favourable terms.

Cost Monitoring: Monitor project costs throughout the construction phase, tracking expenses, identifying variances, and providing timely updates to project stakeholders.

Value Engineering: Participate in value engineering exercises to optimize project costs without compromising quality or functionality.

Contract Administration: Support the administration of construction contracts, including issuing variations, processing payments, and resolving contractual disputes.

Documentation Management: Maintain accurate records of quantities, costs, and contract documents, ensuring compliance with company procedures and industry standards.

Requirements:

Keen Eye for Detail: Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy, with the ability to analyse complex data and produce precise estimates.

Passion for Construction: Enthusiasm for the construction industry and a desire to learn and grow within a dynamic team environment.

Communication Skills: Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with colleagues and interact professionally with clients and suppliers.

Team Player: A collaborative mindset and willingness to support colleagues in achieving project objectives.

Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with quantity surveying software and proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel, for data analysis and reporting.

Educational Background: A degree or diploma in quantity surveying, construction management, or a related field is preferred.
