If so, we invite you to join our esteemed team as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor with our Tier 1 civil engineering contractor based in East Scotland.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting Senior Quantity Surveyors: Assist in all aspects of quantity surveying activities, including cost estimation, budget management, and financial reporting.
  • Contract Administration: Aid in the preparation and evaluation of tender documents, subcontract agreements, and procurement processes in accordance with industry standards and company policies.
  • Cost Control: Assist in monitoring project costs, tracking variations, and preparing accurate forecasts to ensure budgetary compliance and profitability.
  • Document Management: Maintain comprehensive records of project documentation, including contracts, invoices, and correspondence, to support effective project management and audit processes.
  • Risk Management: Contribute to the identification and assessment of commercial risks, offering proactive solutions and recommendations to mitigate potential issues and ensure project success.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with project teams, subcontractors, and clients to facilitate clear communication, resolve queries, and address commercial matters in a timely and professional manner.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret technical data and financial information accurately.
  • Knowledge of construction contracts, procurement methods, and industry regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel, and familiarity with quantity surveying software is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Self-motivated and proactive attitude, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
  • Relevant work experience or internships in quantity surveying or construction-related roles is desirable.
