Assistant Retail Store Manager

Student and Campus Life (SCL) at Queen’s University Belfast, is currently seeking to appoint an exceptional candidate to the post of Assistant Retail Store Manager.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced retail supervisor. The Union Shop is a modern and unique store located in the Queen’s University Student Centre and Students’ Union, ‘One Elmwood,’

The Assistant Retail Store Manager will assist the Retail Store Manager with the delivery of an efficient, effective, customer led service. In addition, they will support the operation of any agreed satellite and pop-up retail units operated under The Union Shop brand across campus.

The post holder will ensure that the highest levels of customer care are achieved, sufficient staff levels are maintained, and that health & safety is achieved at the highest standard.

They will be required to be flexible and work on campus 5 out of 7 days in an irregular shift pattern, including weekends, public and bank holidays to meet the needs of the business.

The Union Shop opening hours are between 7am and 8pm Monday to Friday with reduced operating hours at weekends.

The successful candidate must have, and your application should clearly demonstrate you have:

• Relevant academic and/or vocational qualification (e.g. GCSE, O Level, NVQ Level 2) with relevant retail supervisory experience OR; Applicants without the appropriate qualifications, but with demonstrable relevant retail supervisory experience will also be considered.
• Experience of supervising and training staff, including design of staff rotas
• Reconciliation experience
• Experience of using relevant computer packages such as Microsoft Office, email and internet
• Experience of back office management of EPoS system
• Experience of stock and card management
• Visual display/merchandising experience
