This secondary school in North Birmingham is looking for an Assistant SENCO to support the SENCO and work with children who have additional learning needs. The school has an excellent SEND department and children are supported by a dynamic team of Teaching Assistants and support staff.
As an Assistant SENCO you will be supporting the SENCO in the assessment of children’s needs, providing reports on student progress, and delivering 1-2-1 and small group intervention sessions. You will be supporting the SENCO in reviews of EHCPs and will observe students in lessons. This school requires an Assistant SENCO who enjoys working with special educational needs and is keen to ensure that every child receives the support that they deserve.
Job role:
- Supporting the SENCO in ensuring that the needs of students are met
- Providing 1-2-1 and group support for students, including delivering intervention
- Completing paperwork appropriately with attention to detail
- Understanding a variety of special educational needs, be willing to learn more about different additional needs and disorders
- Effectively communicate with the SENCO, Teachers and SLT
- Working closely with an outstanding SENCO
