Hays are working in partnership with one of Northern Irelands top consultancies who currently have a vacancy in their Belfast office for an Associate Civil Engineer to join and lead their team delivering Civil Engineering projects primarily in water and wastewater infrastructure. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team you will coordinate feasibility studies, design, planning, procurement and undertake construction stage project management.
Your new role
You will be joining a specialist infrastructure business operating across a wide range of sectors throughout the UK, including Water / Wastewater, Highways & Transportation, Building, Structural and Geotechnical engineering.
Your role will include managing the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of physical infrastructures; ensures compliance with relevant building codes and safety regulations.
You will lead the planning, design, construction and maintenance of physical infrastructures, especially large and complex infrastructures, such as roads, bridges, channels and dams.
Overseeing the evaluation and inspection of Civil Engineering projects to ensure that standards and requirements are met. Review and approve technical documentation, such as drawings and specifications, for Civil Engineering projects.
Supervise adherence to building codes and safety regulations relevant to Civil Engineering. Ensure project financial and programme performance.

What you need to succeed
You will require a Civil Engineering degree with extensive experience and have achieved Chartered status.
Demonstrable technical experience in delivery of Water and/or Wastewater infrastructure and non-infrastructure design and build projects. This may include gravity/pressure pipelines, pumping stations, treatment facilities and RC structures etc.
You will be leading multi-disciplinary project teams to deliver projects within agreed scope, timeframes and budgets.
You will have excellent knowledge of the Water industry, including current industry best practice and innovations.
