Associate / Controller - Real Estate Portfolio Management - (ACA/ACCA) - OUR CLIENT - Is an international, rapidly growing Real Estate Investment Management SME that have established their business in the UK and overseas. As they expand, they have solely instructed us to help them hire for a new addition to their London team and act as Associate / Controller - Portfolio Management - who will join their office in London. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to learn and grow within and beyond the role as the company looks to grow and expand.
THE ROLE is expected to be a balance of finance led Real Estate responsibilities alongside management and reporting. The requirements for the Associate / Controller - Real Estate Portfolio Management role will include:
- Reviewing and overseeing financial reports, budgets, and forecasts.
- Monitoring and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
- Ensuring structuring and tax compliance.
- Coordinating quarterly reports, asset reviews, and valuation processes within the portfolio/strategies.
- Responsible for reviewing and monitoring updated business plans / underwriting models from the operating partners.
- Tracking actual performance against annual budgets and underwriting models - Prepare/manage/monitor portfolio models.
- Monitoring asset level financing.
- Interfacing with operating partners for delivery and review of recurring property reports and business plan updates.
- Interfacing with the Investment teams both at initial acquisition and ongoing monitoring.
- Interfacing with the IR / Finance teams to provide asset level summaries / data for them to incorporate into investor reporting.
- Interfacing with Compliance team to ensure operating partners are meeting ongoing ODD-related obligations.
THE PERSON and SKILL REQUIREMENTS for the Associate / Controller - Real Estate Portfolio Managementrole:
- Qualified Accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA or Equivalent) with at least 2 years post qualification experience likely to have been gained in a top tier accounting firm or the Portfolio Management team of an investment firm.
- Proficiency in Excel (including financial modelling), PowerPoint, and Word.
- Proactive work ethic and a team player.
- Well-organized and detail-oriented with the ability to effectively multi-task.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Desire to learn and grow within and beyond the role.
- Happy to work 3-4 days a week from the office.
