Job description
The SDA has a great opportunity for an Associate IT Operations Analyst to join one of our forward thinking and progressive teams based at Corsham, giving you a fantastic chance to form an integral part of our Information Management & Information Technology (IM&IT) function.
This role will support the delivery of high quality, complex IT services. You will be working closely with the operational teams to ensure customer service is at the core of the IT services we deliver, and that end-user requirements are understood and clearly communicated. Working alongside the IT Operations Manager, you will establish and support the continuous improvement of Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) aligned processes.
The successful candidate will be an integral part of a growing team. It provides an exciting opportunity for an individual to identify improvements in existing report sets, and to use their skills to analyse data to derive insights, identify trends and inform proactive service management. Specialist training is available to allow individuals to develop in the role.

This role requires you to have lived in the UK for the last 10 years and obtain Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance. Clearance must be obtained without any caveats that prevent you from carrying out the role you have been recruited for. If it isn’t obtained or is obtained but with caveats that prevent you from carrying out the role, any conditional offer made to you will be withdrawn. Obtaining DV security clearance can be a lengthy process. You’ll join us once Security Check (SC) clearance is obtained, and then the more enhanced DV checks will continue after you’ve started your employment. If SC clearance isn’t obtained within 12 months, we reserve the right to withdraw any conditional offer made.
At the SDA, we champion flexible ways of working. Regular in-person attendance is required to promote the benefits of face-to-face collaboration alongside flexibility of hours to support work-life balance however, due to the nature of this role you will be required on site for a minimum of 4 days per week. This gives the opportunity to work closely with key stakeholders in Corsham.
Please note, the working condition for this role is situated in an underground facility and therefore, for health & safety reasons the successful applicant for IT Operations Analyst must be physically able to climb thirteen flights of stairs in the event of an emergency.
What you’ll be doing
- Deliver high quality, complex IT services or resolve complex IT problems in a fast-paced environment in response to customer enquiries
- Facilitate the implementation of Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) processes & framework to support and maintain service delivery.
- Review business processes, identify improvements, assess feasibility and recommend new approaches where appropriate and share in the community.
- Responsible for monitoring service levels, trend analysis of reported incidents, repeated customer enquiries and escalating incidents.
- Support the delivery of the accreditation activity within small and medium projects.
Person specification

- Experience of IT Operations in a previous role.
