Job description

As part of our Plan25 we are looking to appoint an Associate Landscape Architect to lead the Landscape Architect team in London. On the back of successful growth for the Landscape team, this role will suit an experienced and well-established Senior Landscape Architect, based in the South-East region, who is looking for the next step in their career. Alternatively, an Associate Landscape Architect who is seeking a new challenge, within a multi-disciplinary construction and property consultancy.

Operating across diverse sectors, to include; education, defence, healthcare, this role will provide an exciting opportunity for the successful Associate Landscape Architect to shape and grow the team in London.

You will report into the Director for Landscape Architecture, and become part of our cohesive, collaborative and team-orientated environment, where you can expect to find genuine scope for professional development.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Maintain quality of service delivery and develop client relationships to secure repeat business – undertake business development activities
  • Management of design teams
  • Liaise directly with clients and undertake the role of Client Account Manager where required
  • Involvement with the recruitment of staff as required
  • Run and coordinate complex jobs
  • Control of day-to-day programming and planning, staff resources and monitoring of team utilisation
  • Where directed, provide pastoral care of staff – including appraisals and reviews
  • Promote training and development of staff within the team

The successful Associate Landscape Architect will have significant experience in a relevant role as well as demonstrable leadership skills and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.

Ideally, you will have the below competencies:

Behavioural:

  • Excellent organisational, communication, writing, and presentation skills
  • Excellent design skills and actively involved in promoting all disciplines
  • Autonomous in role – honest and reliable with high levels of integrity
  • Self-motivated and ability to motivate and manage teams and address difficult elements of projects
  • Ability to work to deadlines and manage time with multiple tasks
  • Good rapport and engagement with other parts of the business
  • Demonstrates full understanding of our ethos and business goals

Technical:

  • Degree in Landscape Architecture and significate experience in a relevant role
  • Chartered member of the Landscape Institute (LI)
  • Good Contract administration knowledge, especially NEC and JCT
  • Good Microsoft/AutoCAD/Revit and other software skills
  • Proven capability of managing major projects / clients
  • Good technical construction knowledge and a full understanding of all current statutory legislation and regulations
