The Associate Lecturer in Hospitality role:

We are seeking to recruit a bank of Associate Lecturers to join our amazing Hospitality team. This is a flexible bank role which allows you to accept work assignments when convenient to you. Perhaps you are looking for that extra role in addition to your main job that enables you to give back to our students and help shape their future careers.

As an Associate Lecturer in Hospitality, you will deliver teaching and learning to students, including in the training restaurants and kitchens in the College. Our student training restaurants are open to the public, with Café 19 which offers breakfasts, homemade soup, freshly baked cakes and pastries and more and the fully licensed 64 Restaurant and Bar which offers a seasonal a la carte menu.

Key Responsibilities of ourAssociate Lecturer in Hospitality:

• Undertaking teaching and learning related activities, including tutoring, as agreed.
• Ensuring that appropriate learning materials are prepared and assessments and assignments are undertaken in a timely manner.
• Undertaking administration and provide reports and statistics regarding student and teaching matters.
• Taking an active role in the achievement of high individual student retention and success rates, meeting or surpassing the relevant targets for each.
• To develop curricula and learning activities, taking into consideration literacy and numeracy development, and equality and diversity.
• Understanding personal responsibilities in relation to Safeguarding.
• Keeping up-to-date with current issues, changes, and policies relating to the educational sector.
• Participating in marketing activities and promote the College for the purpose of gaining sponsorship, advertising, good public relations and increased recruitment.
• Undertaking the delivery of literacy and numeracy.

Our ideal Associate Lecturer in Hospitalityshould have the below skills and experience:

• Level 3 (or equivalent) in related subject
• Working knowledge of professional cookery
• Relevant industrial/commercial/subject experience
• The ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of people at all levels, verbally and in writing
