Job description

About Us:

GlobeScan is a boutique insights and strategy consultancy helping companies, NGOs, and governmental organizations know their world and create strategies to lead a sustainable and equitable future.

We are proud to be a certified B Corp, and our customized research and advisory capabilities help our clients understand and respond to the concerns, expectations, and aspirations of their diverse stakeholders.

Our international footprint allows us to work with high-profile clients to tackle international challenges. Alongside colleagues across the world, the team works on projects that cover global topics, so we can discover different perspectives and maximise our impact.

Role:

We are seeking an Associate or Manager to join our UK team. You will be involved in the full range of our research and advisory work – including:

  • Shaping sustainability & ESG strategies and reporting, including double materiality analysis to maximise their positive social and environmental impact.
  • Building stronger trusted relationships between companies, NGOs and their stakeholders through research and engagement.
  • Analysing consumer insights on sustainable and healthy living to support behaviour change and improve communications.

GlobeScan’s ‘One Team’ approach means you will work directly with colleagues in London and across our offices around the world.

The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience in understanding and analysing sustainability and ESG issues, either from consulting or in house roles, involving data analysis, strategy, implementation or reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strong supporting role on client projects for sustainability/ESG materiality assessments, sustainability strategy development and stakeholder engagement.
  • Analyse ESG trends and stay abreast of regulations and best practices to provide insights and recommendations to clients.
  • Contribute to our wider service offerings including reputation research, trends analysis and consumer engagement and communications on sustainability.
  • Client communications and management, helping to build accounts and foster relationships.
  • Varied day to day activities including analysis and interpretation of qualitative and quantitative data, report writing, presentations and workshops, managing partners, and contributing to proposals.

Requirements:

Essential:

  • Minimum of two years of experience in sustainability / ESG / corporate responsibility – for instance consulting, research, reporting or data analysis.
  • Keen interest in helping clients create positive change within their organisations and in wider society
  • A collaborative and proactive team player
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Confidence in analysing, interpreting and communicating findings from large datasets
  • Clear and concise written communications; comfortable speaking in-person, via video conference and telephone
  • Strong skills in MS PowerPoint and Excel

Ideally candidates would have one or more of the following:

  • Experience with materiality or double materiality analysis or reporting
  • Familiarity with reporting structures e.g. ISSB, CSRD, SEC, GRI
  • Experience in designing, managing and interpreting quantitative survey research and qualitative interview research
  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in sustainability, environmental studies, business, finance, or related field.
  • Experience in project management
  • Fluency in an additional language beyond English – especially French or German

Where there are gaps in your experience, we will ensure you receive training as part of our learning programme and on-the-job.

Salary and Benefits:

  • Competitive salary based on experience
  • Pension scheme
  • Company bonus scheme, dependent on the profits of the company – eligible after passing probationary period
  • 5 weeks annual leave entitlement plus 4 shut-down days over the Christmas holidays
  • Healthcare plan (health, dental, life assurance, and income protection)
  • A commitment to work-life balance and flexible office and home working
  • Company-wide, 4-day biennial retreat outside the UK
  • Our London office is based in a vibrant co-working space near London Bridge, with a calendar of exciting events open to all members

Reporting into: Director or Principal, UK who will guide you with career development and opportunities
Hybrid work: Combination of office (2 days per week) / home working
Employment: Permanent full-time role (following 6-month probation period)
Start date: As soon as possible

To apply: Send your CV and cover letter detailing why you’d like to work for GlobeScan and why you would be a good fit for the role to careers@globescan.com
