Overview of the Role Are you an outstanding academic with passion and enthusiasm for your research? Do you want to be part of a thriving School of Design in a Russell Group University? Are you an experienced academic leader looking for a challenging senior position where you can influence and shape the future of design education? The School of Design is seeking to appoint an Associate Professor with proven abilities to deliver world class teaching and research at the intersection between Art and Design practice. The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate expertise in, and theoretical knowledge of, a range of both Art and Design inter-disciplinary practices including painting, printmaking, photography, textile design/arts and graphic design/arts (to name only a few). The successful candidate will be expected to provide leadership across the range of the School’s activities, enhance the School’s research and teaching activities, and work with colleagues to build on the School’s reputation for excellence in Art and Design. You will have a PhD in Art or Art and Design, or related area, have an established record of art-based practice, as well as research publications commensurate with the level of the post. You will also be able to demonstrate a proven strategy for securing research funding and achieving internationally recognised standards of excellence.
