About the role

Hargreaves Lansdown (HL) are now recruiting for an Associate Risk Analyst to join the team. As a Risk Analyst you'll be embedding risk management activities within the Risk Management Framework, ensuring the business can identify, measure, assess, monitor and manage its risks, and increase the likelihood that it will meet strategic and business objectives. Collecting data and performing research to identify and report on potential risk trends and uncertainties, analysing their likelihood of materialising. Considering the context of external factors and general economic trends and developments, which could affect the business and its strategic objectives. This is an excellent opportunity within Risk and Compliance for people with an interest in risk and have a passion to learn.

What you'll be doing

  • Supporting on the monitoring and development of the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework, identifying, measuring, assessing, and reporting on risks
  • Help maintain oversight of Risk and Control Self-Assessment across all departments, ensuring the business updates the evaluation of risks and controls in accordance with the requirements of the Risk Management Framework
  • Working with the business to manage Operational Risk Events and Risk Issues to mitigate potential or materialised Risks/impacts to the business
  • Maintaining and using risk management data to produce well written structured reports
  • Supporting risk owners in reviewing and analysing Loss Events raised by the business
  • Supporting the Risk Managers in preparing comprehensive risk reports for key Committees and Boards
  • Helping in the development and accurate data input for the reporting of Key Risk Indicators (KRI's) Support projects and drive business initiatives as required e.g. Risk Culture and Risk Maturity development etc
  • Analysing data inputted into central risk system e.g. Metric Stream (including Risk Incidents, Loss Events, Risk Assessments, KRI's etc)
  • Assisting in the tracking and follow-up of action plans which have been agreed with the business following an incident or a risk assessment
  • Supporting the team in identifying external threats that may impact the groups operational objectives
  • Developing strong and effective collaboration across teams and stakeholders
  • Assisting with risk integration and optimisation tasks

About you

  • Previous experience within an administrative or project support role within financial services is desirable
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • High level attentiveness to detail
  • A willingness to learn as well as contribute - be able to constructively challenge and be open to challenge - responding positively
  • Problem solving skills - with the ability to use own experience to develop pragmatic solutions and resolve complex issues
  • Ability to work, and be resilient, in a fast paced and changeable environment

Interview process

The interview process for this role is a one stage competency based interview with a task.

Working Schedule

This role is based in Bristol head office, BS1 5HL. This role is permanent, full time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. We have returned to the office, however for this role we offer a hybrid flexible working pattern to enable you the option of working from home and coming into the office circa weekly.
