Audit & Accounts Assistant Manager - £ Competitive - Middlesbrough
TN Recruits Accounts have a superb new opening for an experienced and dedicated Audit and Accounts Assistant Manager to join a highly regarded and progressive Chartered Accountancy and expert team.
As an Audit & Accounts Assistant Manager, you will report to a manager or senior manager, contributing to the execution of statutory audits and Accounts preparation for a dynamic portfolio of clients in the North Yorkshire region. You'll oversee onsite audit teams, utilising advanced technology to streamline processes and enhance client satisfaction.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities:
* Lead the audit of financial statements from inception to completion, including managing onsite audit teams.
* Assist in planning and executing accounts and audits.
* Prepare accounts using various client systems like Sage, Xero, and QuickBooks Online.
* Draft corporation tax computations.
* Finalise accounts and tax computations post-client meetings.
* Collaborate with partners and senior colleagues to address client needs effectively.
* Provide routine tax, accounting, and commercial advice to clients.
* Ensure compliance with the firm's standards in preparing working papers, financial statements, and tax returns.
* Manage accounts and audit assignments within established time and financial constraints.
* Actively engage in department meetings.
* Provide supervision and support to team members, reviewing work as necessary.
* Pursue continuous professional development to stay updated on technical knowledge.
* Propose improvements to departmental processes and systems.
* Travel to clients' premises primarily in the North-East and Yorkshire regions.
Requirements:
Essential:
* ACA or ACCA qualified.
* Demonstrated experience in delivering audits on UK GAAP statutory financial statements.
* Recent background in general practice with exposure to accounts, audit, and/or tax.
* Strong organisational skills.
* Track record of taking ownership of assignments from start to finish.
* Proven ability to deliver excellent client service.
* Flexibility and proactivity in managing multiple priorities.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Proficiency in IT, including Excel.
* Attention to detail and accuracy in work.
* Problem-solving skills.
* Willingness to travel to clients' premises as needed.
Desirable:
* Familiarity with accounting software Sage, QuickBooks and Xero.
* Knowledge of clients' specialised sectors, charities, or the legal profession.
* Experience in team supervision or management.
* Familiarity with Iris, Caseware and MyWorkPapers
