Audit Delivery Support Team Leader

Salary: (Band 1C) from £37,595 to £42,250 per annum, plus competitive benefits

Hours: 36.25 hours per week

Overall purpose of the role

To deliver comprehensive support services for our Audit Delivery teams.

To be an integral part of the BSS Management Team and manage a small team of Audit Delivery Support staff to ensure a high standard of support service is provided across the organisation.

What you will be doing

As one of our valued team members, you’ll be doing the following to help make Audit Scotland a world-class public sector audit organisation:

· Line manage a team of Audit Delivery Support Assistants to ensure the support needs of Audit Scotland’s Audit Delivery Teams are met.

· Ensure the team receive all the necessary learning and development to reach their potential.

· Work closely with Business Units to understand their specific requirements and manage Audit Delivery team resources to balance priorities across the teams.

· Establish a meeting schedule with business units to ensure effective communication and planning.

· Work with and support the Business Support Manager to ensure that all Business Support team objectives are met

· Prepare and authorise POs, sharing with BSM for authorisation as required.

· Manage the work of the Audit Delivery Support Assistants (ADSAs), ensuring all deadlines are met and holiday cover arrangements are in place when required.

· Manage respective areas of the BSS Sharepoint site, ensuring information that relates to Audit Delivery is kept up to date at all times, providing the latest information in relevant BSS related areas.

· Identify and implement process improvements within your team to ensure efficiency, using your initiative to establish new and innovative ways of doing things.

· Be an integral part of the Business Support Services Management Team as we work together to deliver a high standard of business support service to our stakeholders.

· Generate a positive, hard working and collaborative team ethos and atmosphere by effective communication, organising team events, team meetings and celebrating hard work.

· Collaborate with internal teams to develop effective working relationships and ensure a streamlined approach to work.

· Find solutions to problems and situations by drawing on your excellent knowledge of the business.

· Prepare Risk Assessments for your area of work, as required

· Deal with a range of confidential information in compliance with Data Protection regulations.

· Deal with difficult and complex situations escalating to more senior colleagues when needed.

· Take responsibility for managing respective short-term projects through to delivery, as well as liaising with others to check progress on other projects managed by them.

· Participate in a range of working groups to deliver outcomes for the organisation.

· Work with the BSS Manager and other Team Leaders to monitor and maintain the BSS Risk Register.

· Take a proactive approach to self-development and performance improvement

· Contribute to management of corporate budget areas, including regular monitoring and reporting to the relevant groups and committees.

· Work flexibly to ensure the support requirements of the organisation are met. This may require some work out with normal office hours on occasion.

· Write or contribute to writing reports for Executive Team, Board etc as required.

What we are looking for

Essential requirements for this role:

· Previous line management experience

· Knowledge of statutory maintenance and health and safety requirements

· Excellent organisation and planning skills to manage multiple and competing demands as well as prioritising your own workload.

· Excellent written and verbal skills with the ability to work with people at all levels.

· The ability to communicate effectively with others to ensure deadlines are met.

· The ability to use your own initiative and make connections across the various Audit Scotland offices, as well as externally.

· The ability to think strategically to enable planning and co-ordination.

· A high level of attention to detail.

· Problem solving skills.

· The ability to manage confidential and sensitive information.

· An ability to work individually and as part of a team.

· You have significant experience of using O365 Microsoft packages at advanced levels.

Desirable Requirements

· Qualification at any level in business management, health and safety or facilities management

· Project management skills
