The post holder will work closely with all team members, in particular, with the Deputy Head of Student Support Operations, the Manager of the Service, alongside the other Team Leader post and the Student Support Officers and Assistants, having delegated responsibility for key operational tasks with internal and external deadlines. The focus of the post is reporting on outcomes, development and enhancement of systems and processes, and Team Leadership. The post holder will take a key role in financial processes including audits and reconciliations of spend. We engage with applicants, students, staff from colleges & schools and University services, alongside external stakeholders, including funding bodies, US Education Department, and colleagues from other higher education institutions. We often engage with students who are in financial crisis which can be challenging and we provide training for staff to support these interactions. This post holder will engage with students on an individual level to identify the best possible outcome within the funds and framework available. This role will work closely with team members to continue to reflect and improve on our systems and processes for utilising external datasets. We require the post holder to contribute to our enhancement focus for systems and our service. Demonstrating a commitment to regular Continued Professional Development is essential. This post is full-time (35 hours per week), however, we are open to considering part-time or flexible working patterns to .80 FTE or 28 hours for non peak periods. The role requires periods of full-time campus attendance but does offer hybrid working to enable service needs. Your skills and attributes for success: Attention to detail an analytical approach with financial responsibilities excellent interpersonal skills are essential given the volume and engagement with Student Funding and external reporting experience of working within regulations and frameworks, we work within a number of regulations and frameworks related to nationality, funding and auditing proven experience of leading, motivating, and managing a transactional-based team in a busy setting is essential.
