Internal Audit provides independent and objective assurance as to whether the design and operational effectiveness of our framework of risk management, control and governance processes, as designed and represented by management, is adequate.

In this role you will:

•    Undertake Project audit activities (planning, testing, issue drafting and reporting) as part of the Programme and Change Management Audit team. 
•    Obtain, analyse and synthesise information to understand complex issues and in-depth variable factors, identifying weaknesses and reporting on the adequacy of the internal control environment and resolution. 
•    Engage with and provide strategic advice to internal auditors and auditee stakeholders on project best practice.
•    Support the Senior Manager with internal and external stakeholders to ensure a common approach and understanding of key deliverables. 
•    Ensuring the Audit Plan is delivered and working to tight deadlines.

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

•    The role holder should hold experience in auditing and/or providing assurance over programme and change.
•    Good working understanding of the project lifecycle and key project/programme management principles. Must be able to give examples of practical exposure and understanding.
•    Analytical and critical thinker, who can effectively manage competing priorities and complex challenges to deliver positive outcomes.
•    Excellent written and spoken communication skills with experience of successfully influencing others, negotiating effectively, and winning over audiences with compelling and persuasive discussion.

This role is based in Birmingham, Sheffield or Edinburgh Hybrid.
