Job duties:
- Planning the audit timetable and approach.
- Supporting the team to be fully briefed on the task they are required to achieve, within the agreed timetable.
- Completing the most technical areas of the audit.
- Managing the day-to-day delivery of the audit fieldwork.
- Preparing draft corporation tax computations.
- Resolving queries from staff and clients, as they occur.
- Report to Boards, written and presented for non-accountants to understand.
- Preparation of statutory accounts where required (although accounts and audit teams are usually separated). However, there may be instances where the statutory accounts will need to be prepared prior to an audit.
- Consultancy projects, including: financial modelling, resource planning, implementation of accounting systems.
- Planning, with the Partners, the client timetable for the various aspects of the stages of the project, and assessing, with the Partners, the team required to complete these tasks.
- Working as a project team with the client to ensure both Partners and the client are 'working as a team'.
- Produce detailed reports, with supporting documentation to present the results of the projects and its achievements.
- Work closely with the client's staff to ensure the project benefits continue.
- Deliver training to clients on technical matters.
- Build relationships and market the firm to help grow the fee base.
Other Requirements:
- Management of trainee accountants, who require support to achieve their targets from the Audit Manager.
- Knowledge of IRIS, SAGE, Xero and QuickBooks is required.
- Good communication and written skills are essential.
- Excellent attention to detail required with the ability to work under pressure and meeting strict deadlines.
