Automation Engineer

We are seeking an Automation Engineer who will be instrumental in enhancing the automation processes within the Engineering & Manufacturing department of our industrial / manufacturing entity. The successful candidate will be responsible for improving the overall efficiency and productivity of our manufacturing operations in Doncaster.

Description

• Oversee the development and implementation of automation systems and processes.
• Troubleshoot and maintain automation equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Collaborate with the manufacturing team to identify opportunities for process improvements.
• Implement new strategies to enhance productivity and efficiency in the manufacturing process.
• Develop and maintain documentation for automation processes and equipment.
• Train and guide other team members on the operation and maintenance of automation systems.
• Maintain adherence to safety, quality and environmental standards.
• Collaborate with the wider engineering team to ensure alignment of automation strategies with organisational goals.

Profile

A successful Automation Engineer should have:

• Strong engineering background, ideally apprentice trained Engineer, educated to a minimum ONC/HNC in either Automation or Electrical discipline, having demonstrated working in a highly automated and faced paced assembly environment, where quality of the finished components is of the upmost priority.
• Previous experience working in an automation capacity Ideally on following equipment; PLC control systems (inc programming), Fanuc Robot and associated control systems, Sepro Robots
• Strong experience of working within a CMMS system. Executing, reviewing, writing, and amending TPM routines. Ability to demonstrate delivery of small/medium sized improvement projects
• Self-motivated problem solver with the ability to make high level decisions on own initiative as required.
