Job Description
- Oversee the development and implementation of automation systems and processes.
- Troubleshoot and maintain automation equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate with the manufacturing team to identify opportunities for process improvements.
- Implement new strategies to enhance productivity and efficiency in the manufacturing process.
- Develop and maintain documentation for automation processes and equipment.
- Train and guide other team members on the operation and maintenance of automation systems.
- Maintain adherence to safety, quality and environmental standards.
- Collaborate with the wider engineering team to ensure alignment of automation strategies with organisational goals.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Automation Engineer should have:
- Strong engineering background, ideally apprentice trained Engineer, educated to a minimum ONC/HNC in either Automation or Electrical discipline, having demonstrated working in a highly automated and faced paced assembly environment, where quality of the finished components is of the upmost priority.
- Previous experience working in an automation capacity Ideally on following equipment; PLC control systems (inc programming), Fanuc Robot and associated control systems, Sepro Robots
- Strong experience of working within a CMMS system. Executing, reviewing, writing, and amending TPM routines. Ability to demonstrate delivery of small/medium sized improvement projects
- Self-motivated problem solver with the ability to make high level decisions on own initiative as required.
