Job Title: Automotive Lead Engineer
Location: Whitley, Coventry
Rate: £24.70ph via an Umbrella Company (Inside IR35) or £18.90ph PAYE
Employment Type: Contract (Currently financed until 31/03/2024)
Hours: Standard 40 Hours Per Week
We are looking for Lead Engineers, to join our Engineering Team, to support immediate project requirements. As a Lead Engineer, candidate will be working within the Engines Engineering Team based out of Whitley, offering a flexible hybrid working model.
The candidate will be responsible for technically leading the design and development activities of on-engine mechanical and electrical components supporting our engines manufacturing plant in Wolverhampton. Candidate will own the Design and Release of multiple parts across various engine programmes, delivering the commodity plan to quality, cost and time. The candidate will develop a Product Design Specification to support supplier sourcing and work with the matched pair through the sourcing process.
The candidate will be responsible to lead the suppliers through the various design stages, procurement of prototypes, production tooling and ensure all components perform to our client's requirements. Lead Engineers will collaborate with Key Stakeholders around the business to develop and optimise the hardware design to our client's engineering processes. The candidate will support resolution of key development, launch and customer quality issues involving Engine Mechanical & Electrical commodities.
Skills Required:
- Component delivery experience from concept to launch.
- Experience in Low Voltage electrical components (Starter motors, Alternators, Harness etc..).
- Problem solving, issue resolution experience.
Experience Required:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical/Electronic/Mechanical Engineering.
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills with a growth mindset.

- The ability to prioritise own workload and be an effective Team Player who supports other Team Members.

Experience Preferred:
- Experience of working with Low Voltage Electrical Components from concept design to delivery.
- Product Development Lifecycle and Supplier Management experience.
