Techniche Global are supporting a manufacturing company to appoint an Automotive Trim Test Technician on a long-term contract assignment to be a part of their Technical Research & Development facility in Cranfield just outside of Milton Keynes.
Job Duration - 12 months rolling
39 core working hours Mon-Thurs 8am-5pm, Fri 8am-1.20pm
Deliverables and KPIs of an Automotive Trim Test Technician:
* Preparation / building / maintenance of vehicles or components for test.
* Testing in static and dynamic conditions and Evaluation and concern identification on completion of test.
* Removal and refit of interior trim parts
* Creation of prototype mock-up parts using: Basic hand tool, 3D Printing, 3D Milling / Measure
* Vehicle Ergonomics analysis using tools such as: 3D Scanners, CMM Measuring
* Set up and support climatic tests in simulated environmental facilities
* Vehicle system knowledge with the ability to fault find
* Understanding of component measurement techniques
* Instrumentation set-up
* Data analysis & Report writing
* Use skills to provide support to other test sections as required
Qualifications/Skills Required:
Ideally C&G / BTEC L3 in mechanical, Electrical or automotive engineering with a recognised apprenticeship or qualification within a relevant field
* Fundamental understanding of vehicle dis-assembly, assembly, & maintenance techniques
* A good knowledge of Word and PowerPoint for report writing & presentation preparation
* Excellent organisational skills
* Strong attention to detail
* Be able to work independently to manage and prioritise their own and workload
* Willingness to support adhoc Shift working/Overtime to support on-site testing.
