Job description

Role: Bank Support Worker

Wage: £11.67 per hour. £65.68 sleep-over rate

Location: Just outside Chester

Job Type: Casual working arrangement. Will be called upon as and when cover is required (i.e. to cover holidays and other absences).

Hours of work: Weekends. See shifts below:

Daytime Shifts - Usually between 8:00am and 7:00pm on weekends.

Evening Shifts - Usually between the hours of 6:45pm – 11:00pm (+ sleep-over 11:00pm – 7:00am) then 7:00am – 8:15am, (= 5.5 hours plus sleep-over).

We are looking for additional Support Workers on the weekend to join our team of bank workers, to cover holidays and other absences.

This critical work will involve working alongside families to provide guidance and support to enable them to overcome difficulties and barriers to achieve identified outcomes and reach their full potential. This position contributes to our service delivery by ensuring that all family members feel safe and secure in their homes on site. At times you may be required to provide an evening and night-time presence on site overseeing the safety and security of the site and our families.

The Role

The role involves working alongside families to provide guidance and support to enable them to address and overcome barriers to wellbeing to achieve identified outcomes and reach their potential. To work alongside the Families team to support parents to give their children the best possible start in life and lay the foundation for a fulfilling future. The role involves weekends, evenings and sleepovers. To ensure that the accommodation provided to the residents is safe and secure through the provision of security and door control. This includes controlling access to buildings, being the first point of contact for all emergencies and carrying out Health and Safety checks. To respond to any emergencies during the night by contacting the emergency services or alerting the on call manager if required.

Day time aspects of the role will include:

  • Providing support to individuals and families.
  • Empower families to identify barriers to progress.
  • Identify ways parents can build self-confidence.
  • Encourage participation in learning and activities.
  • Remain vigilant to safeguarding.

Evening aspects of the role will include:

  • Provide basic first contact advice and security to residents
  • Deal with emergency situations taking action in the event of a fire or other incidents
  • Keep appropriate records of all work and activities within the site
  • Identify, record and develop effective communication to cascade any known risks or concerns to relevant colleagues and other external agencies
