, I am 69 years old, I have lived at Apethorpe Court now for 8+ years. I may at times display challenging behaviour this may be due to anxiety and is likely to happen if I am unaware of who is coming into my home to support me. I Like my staff team to be reliable, motivated, and flexible and understand my needs and how to provide the best support to achieve the best outcome.
I like to go out into the community, I have my own Mobility car to enable staff to drive to me to go out into the community this maybe to attend an appointment or collect food/ shopping, even just a day out! I would also need the use of my wheelchair; staff would be required to check my Wheelchair to ensure there were no faults.
- I like to go out on day trips, Seaside, Fish and chips, Walking (Wheelchair), Parks and other activities.
- I like to sit and complete Jigsaw’s, I love to watch the old Soaps and relax.
- My sisters and brothers are a big part of my life and very much involved, my Sister Joan looks after my Finances and visit me regularly even take me out.
- Mine and my families aspirations are for me to live the best life possible in the best way I can.
- I would like a white British lady that can provide me with my support needs when necessary, I need clear communication skills as it is hard for me to understand at times and lack of communication may cause concerns.
- I like people I can communicate with, as at times I find it hard to understand due to my disabilities, this can cause anxiety and misunderstandings.
- My home is a 2-bedroom bungalow with drive space.
- My home has a lovely garden, I like to spend time in there when the weather is good, I have trees and lots of flowers, we also have a gardener who looks after it.
- I don’t share as I am the only individual living here, I at times sit in the kitchen where I like to do my jigsawsthe main bathroom / wet room is where I shower mostly I like to be as independent as possible.
