The role
Reporting to the Banking Supervisor, the Banking Administrator is responsible for assisting in the day to day banking activities and ensuring that banking procedures are being followed across the business.
The Banking Administrator is vital in in delivering exceptional customer service, whilst maintaining the financial viability of the business by performing the daily reconciliation of banking in an efficient, timely and accurate manner, analysing data, and identifying discrepancies.
This permanent role is based upon 37.5hrs per week between Monday and Friday, which following a successful training and induction period will operate on a hybrid basis to include at least two days per week based onsite at our central offices in Letchworth.
Key accountabilities
- Obtaining and reconciling transactions from bank accounts daily.
- Transferring downloaded bank transactions on to in house system.
- Analysing outstanding banking data and reporting this to divisions on a weekly basis.
- Reporting on any discrepancies within the Centres banking.
- Close down banking at month end and reporting on any unidentified amounts outstanding.
- Raising audit documents in line with month end process.
- Raising journals on any banking differences on a monthly basis.
- Ordering Bank stationary as required.
- Resolving discrepancies with Centre staff.
- Assisting Centre staff and Operations with any queries that arise.
- Foreign currency ordering.
- Posting cash book entries and reconciling bank accounts to general ledger.
- Proactively identify areas for improvement and contribute towards a culture of continuous improvement.
- Attend and contribute to management/department meetings where require
Skills & experience
- Experience of working in a finance team, preferably sales ledger/banking
- Possess a logical and analytical approach, with excellent attention to detail and a good level of numeracy and IT skills (MS Excel is essential)
- Strong organisational and time management capabilities
- Exceptional customer service skills alongside strong written and verbal communication skills
- Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to and build positive relationships at all levels
