Through Business Banking Direct our global network offers comprehensive support and services to businesses in the SME market. From expanding overseas to managing the cash and trade flows of an established enterprise, the Business Banking Direct team of Relationship Managers and Product Specialists provides a range of end-to- end solutions designed to help small and large businesses reach their potential.

We are seeking a customer focused person who thrives on making a difference, to join this team in the role of Relationship Manager, Business Banking Direct (Fast Growth).

The Relationship Manager, Business Banking Direct (Fast growth) is a crucial role to both HSBC and the communities we serve. The successful applicant will need to be passionate about delivering outstanding customer service to approximately 150 Fast Growth Businesses with a focus on technology, life sciences and sustainability.

*Please Note: Even though the base location is listed as Glasgow, this is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work at any HSBC Commercial Centre around the UK. However, you will be required to attend the Commercial Centre for 60% of the working week.

In this role, you will:

•    Be an ambassador for HSBC and develop the bank’s profile in the wider community
•    Collaborate with your team and support colleagues to ensure business and client requirements are met
•    Nurture existing client relationships and identify and develop new business opportunities when appropriate
•    Build a network of business introducers in the business community 
•    Adhere to structures and processes for the management of credit, operational, reputational, criminal and regulatory risk

To be successful in this role you should have:

•    Experience of working in a Commercial Banking environment or similar entity
•    Business development skills
•    Lending experience or an understanding of lending processes would be advantageous
•    An understanding of credit with an ability to undertake financial analysis
•    Passion to deliver outstanding customer service while proactively seeking innovative ways to improve this service
•    Effective communication and interpersonal skills in order to influence, collaborate and negotiate with stakeholders
•    A comprehensive understanding of risk management and proven experience of ensuring own/others' compliance with relevant regulatory processes
