Behaviour Support Learning MentorDetailsStart Date: 1st September 2024 (or earlier if available)
Salary Scale: Grade 6 £30,825 approximately (FTE) dependent on experienceHours: 34.75 hours per week, 39 weeks, term time plus one weekReporting to: Assistant Headteachers (Inclusion)OpportunityFollowing an inadequate Ofsted grading in May 2022, joining the CLIC multi-academy trust in March 2023 and the appointment of a new substantive headteacher from May 2023, we seek to appoint exceptional, inspirational and hardworking inclusion coordinators to work with our amazing children in supporting Lily Lane Primary School to be a beacon for high quality education in Moston.
Lily Lane is part of the CLIC Co-operative Trust with five other primary schools (all based in the North-West). The core vision of CLIC is Changing Lives In Collaboration: ‘Together We Make The Difference’ and our values underpin everything that we do (Respect, Responsibility, Resilience, Kindness, Fairness and Empathy).The Behaviour Support Learning Mentor will provide a complementary service to teachers and other staff, addressing the needs of children who require assistance in overcoming barriers to learning in order to achieve their full potential or accessing the curriculum.
The Behaviour Support Learning Mentor will work with a range of pupils, but give priority to those who need the most help, especially those experiencing multiple disadvantages including:
Children with special or medical needs
Children with challenging behaviour
Children with a statement of special educational needs

Embrace high quality continuous professional development for themselves and othersGeneral ResponsibilitiesTo establish rapport and respectful, trusting relationships with students, acting as a role model
To devise, implement and evaluate specialised programmes of work to encourage and promote a pupil’s social emotional and behavioural development, including zones of regulation
To work with teaching staff and/or other support staff in devising and implementing individual learning plans to promote pupils’ academic, social, emotional and behavioural development
To plan and facilitate structured games and activities, to support pupils to make appropriate use of unstructured times
To plan and draw up approaches that could be used to support pupils both individually and within a group. To train and support identified school staff, by modelling approaches, with a view to staff feeling confident and able to use the approaches following the withdrawal of the Behaviour Support Learning Mentor
To work with individuals & groups both within and outside the classroom setting
Undergo training for the creation of nurture groupsTo be responsible for nurture provision, to help re-engage learners who have been struggling and have left the classroom and to be part of on-call assistanceTo organise and run extracurricular activities during lunch and out of school activities
Organise lunchtime activities to support pupils who have difficulties at break time
Help pupils to manage and resolve conflict by using and teaching them a variety of strategies
To observe and monitor pupil progress, adapting an agreed approach to meet particular needs, recording and maintaining records of pupils’ development and progress
