We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Bid Manager, ideally with a background in the rail industry to join our client’s expanding rail team in in North West London. Our client is a well-established company that specialises in mechanical and electrical (M&E) works, civil engineering (Civils), and signalling and telecommunications (S&T) within the rail sector. Available either as a long-term contract or a permanent position, this is perfect for professionals eager to achieve stability and career growth.
Key Responsibilities as a Bid Manager:
- Oversee the upkeep of the tender database.
- Regularly check and monitor online procurement portals for client updates.
- Secure and review bid/no bid decisions.
- Develop and implement bid plans to ensure maximum criteria scoring.
- Coordinate the review of commercial terms and conditions during the tender stage.
- Provide updates and manage communications throughout the tender process.
- Handle all bid-related deliverables, delegating tasks to HSEQ, Technical, or Planning Support as necessary.
- Schedule and manage pre-submission bid reviews and tender settlement meetings with Directors.
- Facilitate the handover process and organize handover meetings with project delivery teams following contract awards.
- Support both internal and external audit processes.
- Generate and present periodic performance reports for the bid team.
- Collaborate with bid team members to address and mitigate the impact of absences.
- Ensure submissions meet quality standards through HSEQ and Sustainability expertise.

Qualifications and Experience Required as a Bid Manager:
- Prior experience in a comparable role, ideally within the rail industry, although experience in telecoms, M&E and buildings fit out would be considered.
- Possession of relevant professional qualifications and/or substantial demonstrable experience in the field.
- Skilled in evaluating and providing feedback on bid deliverables.
- Capable of effectively managing teams and engaging with various stakeholders.
- Strong client-facing abilities with a keen focus on customer satisfaction.
