All inpatient treatment takes place at Wythenshawe Hospital. They have a dedicated team who perform specialist surgery for a range of conditions. The staff also hold outreach clinics, ambulant and day surgery, at Christie Hospital, Stepping Hill Hospital Stockport and Maccclesfield General Hospital.
They provide a comprehensive service including the diagnosis and management of conditions including: facial injuries, head and neck cancers, salivary gland diseases, facial disproportion, facial skin cancers, facial pain, Temporomandibular joint disorders, impacted teeth, cysts and tumours of the jaws, oral mucosal disorders, and reconstructive surgery of the head and neck.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- To perform appropriate technical laboratory procedures and tasks that are consistent with the job holders’ level of knowledge, skills and experience.
- To remain competent in all sections of the department and to perform tasks accurately and in accordance with departmental standard operating procedures.
- Liaise with clinical staff to ensure optimal service delivery
- Assist with the training of junior BMS and support staff
To be successful in applying for this role you will need:
- HCPC Registration
- Must have Histopathology experience
- Hospital experience
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, carers and staff at all levels
