You will be working for a well-regarded property entrepreneur in the North East who has properties in central Newcastle, Gosforth and Sunderland. The businesses already large property portfolio is continuing growing and our client is looking for someone to be part of their ongoing expansion plans.
The owner of this property business is looking to expand and bring their branches together to one singular agency in the heart of Jesmond, Newcastle. There are exciting opportunities for growth and the possibility of working within a new office in the thriving and affluent Jesmond area. As such, you must have the ability to commute to Jesmond.

There is a permanent role available for the right candidates and scope for bonuses and pay increases as the company continues to grow and branch out to the Jesmond area of Newcastle.
THE ROLE
The role itself is a full-time position Monday to Friday 8.30am to 4.30pm. You will be working alongside a property manager and the maintenance team. You will also have the opportunity to work day to day with an experienced property entrepreneur whom you will be reporting to. You will be shadowing existing staff members in order to get accustomed to the role and receive full support and any training required.
Your duties will include:
- Recording and checking that all rents are up to date
- Managing the administration and payments for the Deposit Protection Scheme
- Making phone calls to tenants and sending emails regarding rent payments
- Follow through action to recover any potential bad debts if required
- Keep paper and computer records of repairs, maintenance work and utilities
- A working knowledge of spreadsheets and experience using excel
- Have experience with Sage line 50 software
- Send and receive emails from tenants, clients and contractors
- Maintain sales and purchase ledger for company
- Carry out monthly bank reconciliation
- Maintain deposit register
- Take company to TB for annual accounts
- Answer queries from tenants in a timely manner
- Deal with energy contracts
- Assist external auditors
- Issue invoices for any extra charges due from tenants
- Other duties as required
THE PERSON
The ideal candidate will have experience within Bookkeeping. There is a preference for the candidate to have experience working within the estate agency, lettings or property management sector previously however this is not essential.
- A Pass in English and Math's GCSE or equivalent qualification
- Previous work experience within estate agency, lettings or property management preferred but not essential
- Knowledge of HMO licenses, CP12’s, EPC ratings and PAT tests preferred but not essential
- Experience using Sage line 50 software preferred but not essential
- A bright and confident team player who is looking for long term career prospects
- Good organization and time management skills
- Someone who works efficiently and independently
- Strong communication skills
