Bookkeeper / Accounts Assistant

Accountancy Recruit is partnering with a small, professional, and welcoming Accountancy Practice based in Gravesend, in the recruitment of a Bookkeeper / Accounts Assistant to join the team at a time of business growth. The role offers the opportunity to become a valued and integral member of the company, at which you will be responsible for preparing accounts to month end trial balance, for a number of clients, using your strong communications and technical ability to build rewarding professional working relationships.

This role is full time or part time (minimum 30 hours per week).

Duties will include -

• Preparation and submission of VAT returns.
• Bank reconciliations and control accounts.
• Preparation of accounts to trial balance.
• Liaising with HMRC and clients.
• Answering incoming calls; taking messages and re-directing calls as required.
• Assisting with the day to day running of the business.

Person Specification

• Experience of preparing accounts to month end trial balance.
• Payroll, QuickBooks, Xero, and Sage experience would be an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of VAT Regulations and Making Tax Digital.
• Knowledge of CIS would be an advantage.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Work to deadlines.
• Prioritise work-flow.
• Excellent organisational skills
• Confident, motivated and have excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
• Office based.

Remuneration

• Salary £30,000 pa
• On-site parking
• Hours: Monday to Thursday: 9.00 am to 5.00 pm. Friday: 9.00 am to 4.00 pm.
• Holidays: 22 days plus bank holidays.
