Bookkeeper – Part-Time

A well established organisation in Sunderland are looking to attract the talent of an experienced Part-time Bookkeeper who is able to bring their expertise to support in a client facing role.

Working Part-time in their offices in Sunderland as well as at client premises, you role will be based around the service delivery of bookkeeping to your portfolio of clients. Working with both small to medium sized businesses in the local community you will take responsibility for ensuring monthly bookkeeping tasks are completed, mainly with the use of Sage, Quickbooks and Xero.

Your time will be split between office and client premises (local) supporting the businesses with their monthly bookkeeping, with the majority using cloud based accounting systems (Sage, Xero & Quickbooks). Day to day you will liaise with colleagues, HMRC and your clients to gather the necessary information to complete quarterly VAT returns, invoice processing and reconciliations.

There will be times where you will need to support clients with the use of accounting systems which will include the installation/training of cloud based accounting systems.

If you have payroll experience this would be advantageous to support the payroll team during holiday cover. This would involve the collation of data, processing calculations, deductions through to payments and all related pension payments and year end processes for weekly, fortnightly and monthly payrolls.

Applications are welcome from experienced Bookkeepers who are able to work part-time and comfortable working at clients offices. We are looking for a Bookkeeper who has gained experienced from a variety of industry sectors and therefore able to adapt to multiple sector accounting. Alternatively those with a background in practice will find this an easy transition. A qualification such as AAT would be desirable but not essential.
