A progressive tech company in Leeds, is looking for a detail-oriented and skilled Bookkeeper to join our finance team. The Bookkeeper will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, handling day-to-day transactions, and supporting financial reporting activities. This role is ideal for a candidate with solid bookkeeping experience and a keen eye for detail.
Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable and Receivable:
- Process supplier invoices and manage payment schedules.
- Prepare and send customer invoices, ensuring timely collection.
- Monitor and reconcile customer and supplier accounts.
Bank Reconciliation:
- Reconcile bank statements and address any discrepancies.
- Track and reconcile credit card transactions.
General Ledger Maintenance:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledger entries.
- Record and reconcile various financial transactions.
Expense Management:
- Process and reconcile employee expense claims.
- Ensure adherence to the company's expense policies.
Financial Reporting Support:
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports and statements.
- Provide necessary documentation for audits and regulatory compliance.
VAT Returns:
- Prepare and submit VAT returns in a timely manner.
- Stay informed about changes in VAT regulations.
Payroll Assistance:
- Support the payroll process by providing accurate financial information.
- Ensure compliance with payroll-related regulations.
Ad-Hoc Tasks:
- Assist with various ad-hoc financial and administrative tasks as needed.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve departmental goals.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper in a fast paced finance function
- AAT qualification or equivalent in finance or accounting.
- Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero).
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other office applications.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
