Branch Manager - Electrical Wholesale

Our client

Our client is one of the UK’s largest and most well-established independent Electrical Wholesalers. They provide off the shelf Trade Counter Service and Local Sales Desks and telephone support.

Job Role

The Branch Manager is responsible for the efficient, effective and profitable operation of the branch in accordance with policies laid down from time to time by the Board of Directors.

Main Areas of Responsibility

• The achievement of sales turnover objectives.
• The development of a wide and diverse trading base to provide a profitable and sustainable business.
• Compliance with the Company’s purchasing policies and procedures, including stock control.
• Credit control in accordance with the Company policy.
• Ensuring the highest level of service is maintained to all customers at all times.
• Close control of overheads.
• Management of personnel including training, appraisals, motivation and overall performance.
• The security and safe keeping of all company assets including safeguarding of confidential and potentially sensitive commercial information.
• Administrative matters including the smooth flow of paperwork from the branch to Head Office and Group Services.
• Advising upon any relevant market trends of general conditions.

Candidate Profile

• Previous experience in Electrical Wholesale sector in a Branch Supervisor or Branch Manager or similar is essential.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong numeracy and commercial acumen.
• Strong people management and team building skills.
