Job Summary:
The Refractory Technician provides on-site services for customers through installation training, repair and preventative maintenance of business equipment.
Job Description:
- Execute refractory installations within the workshop.
- Training personnel in refractory brickwork disciplines and the reading of drawings.
- Verify refractory work to ensure compliance with drawings.
- Ensure adherence to good practices, including considerations for Health & Safety.
- Conduct training sessions for personnel on the safe usage of brick saws, grinding equipment, etc.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications / Requirements:
- Time served apprenticeship bricklaying to city and guilds standard.
- CSCS card.
- Site supervisor safety certificate
- Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organisation, as well as internal and external clients.
- Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
- Ability to work with and influence peers and management.
- Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting.
- willingness to learn new techniques and routines and support other refractory engineers in their training.
- Ability to work overtime as necessary.
