Job Title: Refractory Technician
Salary: £25-30k

Job Summary:
The Refractory Technician provides on-site services for customers through installation training, repair and preventative maintenance of business equipment.
 
Job Description:

•  Execute refractory installations within the workshop.
•  Training personnel in refractory brickwork disciplines and the reading of drawings.
•  Verify refractory work to ensure compliance with drawings.
•  Ensure adherence to good practices, including considerations for Health & Safety.
• Conduct training sessions for personnel on the safe usage of brick saws, grinding equipment, etc.
•  Perform additional duties as assigned.

 
Qualifications / Requirements:

• Time served apprenticeship bricklaying to city and guilds standard.
• CSCS card.
• Site supervisor safety certificate
• Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organisation, as well as internal and external clients.
• Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
• Ability to work with and influence peers and management.
• Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting.
• willingness to learn new techniques and routines and support other refractory engineers in their training.
• Ability to work overtime as necessary.
