Salary: Up to £30,00pa for a graduate and up to £40,000pa for somebody with 1+ years experience

The Role:

We are actively searching for an Operational Support Engineer to bring their expertise to several significant projects in collaboration with esteemed technology partners.
As an Operational Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-level technical support for operations, leveraging cutting-edge cloud-based broadcast technology from key partners such as AWS, Grass Valley, Harmonic, and Ateme. Your responsibilities will span technical support, continuous improvement, system maintenance, vendor management, and seamless team collaboration.
Responsibilities:
Technical Support:
Provide expert guidance and 2nd line support to global operational teams.
Diagnose and troubleshoot cloud-based infrastructure and broadcast technology issues.
Collaborate with the 1st line support team for issue resolution.
Continuous Improvement:
Identify and recommend improvements for enhanced efficiency.
Stay abreast of the latest trends in cloud-based broadcasting technology.
System Maintenance and Changes:
Ensure optimal performance through regular system checks and maintenance.
Plan and execute system changes or upgrades with minimal service disruption.
Vendor Management:
Cultivate and maintain relationships with vendors for up-to-date systems.
Evaluate vendor product updates and provide feedback based on operational goals.
Team Collaboration:
Collaborate with various departments to ensure seamless broadcast operations.
Contribute to a positive team environment by sharing knowledge and mentoring.
Requirements:
Proven experience in operational or support roles within the broadcast industry.
Good understanding of broadcast solutions, including playout, encoding, transmission, and distribution.
Demonstrated expertise in managing vendor relationships for successful project completion.
Excellent organizational, planning, and project management skills.
Effective interpersonal and communication abilities for collaboration with clients and teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
Knowledge of virtualized and cloud-based broadcast solutions.
Familiarity with broadcast technologies and systems, including MPEG, DVB, ATSC, SDI, IP, ASI, ABR, HLS, and DASH.
