We are looking for an experienced Broker/Account Executive who will be responsible for supporting, placing, and servicing to meet client needs, maintain client loyalty at renewal and encourage business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- All placing, contract and closing documentation satisfies the client requirements and complies with internal procedures.
- Manages client requirements in accordance with the terms of appointment, to maintain a strong client relationship, support renewal and encourage additional business.
- Plan and co-ordinate renewal strategies.
- Contributes to retention of clients through planned and coordinated account renewal.
- Identifies and develops opportunities for account development to meet client requirements.
- Ensure agreed payment terms and payment warranties and met through credit control.
- Educate clients and manage client expectations through market, insurance and sector briefings.
- Co-ordinate and manage client and placement records.
- Liaise with producing brokers & intermediaries [clients] to understand their clients demands and needs
- Communicate with underwriters and the placing brokers to deliver appropriate solutions and placement strategies resulting in successful retention of their business
- Monitor renewal retention and identify any concerns which may give rise to lost business
- Assist your team, as required, to ensure that they achieve high retention rates
- Provide guidance & subject matter expertise to clients
- Maintain and build relationships with key clients and identify new opportunities
- Maintain clear, accurate and comprehensive files
- Adhere to and promote compliance (FCA, TCF, GDPR) requirements
Qualifications & Experience:
- Proactive and possess a ‘can do attitude’
- Willingness to step in and cover for your colleagues during planned and unforeseen absenteeism
- Ability to understand and interpret customers’ needs and requirements
- Work effectively as part of a team
- Ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines
- Good working knowledge of the Underwriters and London markets
- Good working knowledge of the UK regulatory requirements and relevant insurance and UK regulatory requirements
Person Specification:
- A levels with GCSE (or equivalent) passes in Maths and English
- ACII or equivalent professional qualification or working towards
- Previous broking experience and understanding and knowledge of general insurance and underlying legal principles.
- Knowledge of Business production orientation and divisional specialism
- Ability to build and maintain profitable long-term relationships with clients and colleagues
- Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast paced environment
- Strong negotiation, influencing skills, analytical, verbal and written communication skills
- High level proficiency in MS Outlook (email) Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Collaborative team working approach
- Ability to work to tight deadlines
- Accurate and attentive to detail
- Ability to work with employees at all organisational levels
