- Job Title: Builder's Merchant - Yard Operative

- Hours: 47.5 Hours per Week
- Salary: £11.80 Hourly paid
Due to our continued success and expansion, we have a fantastic opportunity to join our NMSB Builder's Merchant in New Milton. We are recruiting for a Yard Operative to join their team, serving both our Trade customers and general public. This role will involve physical yard work and driving a counter balance fork lift.
Duties will include:
- Serving our customers in the Builders Merchant.
- Correct recording and completion of tickets.
- Dealing with Customer orders as required.
- Ensure that our products are of good quality and displayed in line with Company guidelines
- Develop strong relationships with key customers.
- Your responsibilities will be to pick and load building and landscaping products for customer collections and deliveries.
- Unload and receive goods in from suppliers.
- Complete daily inspection reports.
- Compliance to Health and Safety requirements at all times.
- Ensures a safe, secure, and legal work environment.
- Maintains quality service by enforcing excellent customer service standards
To ensure that the Company’s activities comply with legislation and regulation concerning Health, Safety and Welfare, Quarry Regulations, Environmental and Quality control the role will be required to learn, understand and adhere to all policies and procedures.
What we’re looking for:
- Valid Counterbalance Forklift licence is preferred but training will be provided
- High level of customer service
- Ability to communicate confidently at all levels
- Knowledge of building and landscaping materials
- Organised with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- The ability to multitask, work well under pressure and meet deadlines
- Personable, outgoing and a team player.
