Building Maintenance Officer

Your new company
The services of Hays have been retained by our client, a large public body based in Magherafelt, to recruit a Building Maintenance Officer on a temporary basis for a period of 9 months.

Your new role
You will be responsible for the effective operational management of all processes and procedures in relation to Building Maintenance and repairs service of organisation properties delivered by in house teams and third parties. This covers all structural, preventative and reactive maintenance planning across organisational properties and assets.
This will include:
Building maintenance planning, programme and delivery of works.Property Asset Statutory compliance and inspection planning, programming and works delivery (e.g. Cold and Hot Water systems, Asbestos, Mechanical and electrical systems, CDM, Energy management.Contract management and annual order management.Production and updating of property / asset drawings and maps.Management of a computer-based inspection and workload record keeping systems for all organisation assets.Plant / equipment replacement, procurement and disposal.

What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this role, you must possess:
A relevant Construction / Property Maintenance related third level qualification with at least 6 months relevant experience in the following areas:
Working with computerised information systems, to produce management reports.Leading, planning and developing projects/programmes within a service area. Experience of procurement of goods and services.Complying with Health and Safety operational requirements in a public-facing environment.Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a track record of building relationships internally and externally, within the delivery of a service or function.
If you do not hold a third level qualification, you must have a minimum of 5 GCSEs (Grades A-C) with at least one year's experience of the areas listed above.
