Building Services Engineer Mechanical Bias

Our Estate Facilities and Scientific Services team are recruiting for a Building services Engineer (Mechanical Bias) to join our site facilities team, on a full-time basis, contributing to the delivery of world-leading science research.  The main duties will involve the planned preventive maintenance and repairs of a variety of mechanical equipment which provide heating, chilled water, DHW, drainage, general HVAC, water testing. The candidate will also complete a wide variety of multi-skill Building Services tasks as required. The ideal candidate will be qualified in mechanical engineering with NVQ or City and Guilds equivalent, be GAS safe registered (or an interest to progress this) and have good relevant experience, in a post apprenticeship role. Basic electrical fault-finding experience and basic BMS experience is also preferable, however, training can be provided to support developing of knowledge in these areas, The successful applicant will have the ability to work independently and as part of a team with minimum supervision and will have a broad range of mechanical knowledge and experience. Good communication skills and the ability to make sound judgement and approach tasks logically are essential.  The post attracts a salary of £24,225- £26,573 per annum for 37 hours per week, with market adjustment payment up to £4000 per annum in addition.  Closing date: 18 February 2024.  We reserve the right to close this vacancy prior to this date.
