Job Title: Building Services Manager.
Location: Northwest London/Berkshire.
Salary: Up to £60K depending on experience.
The Role
As a Building Services Manager specialising in MEP, you will oversee complex Commercial projects for an exclusive clientele in Cambridge. You will work within a senior management team comprised of professionals with extensive experience in the Commercial build sector.
Responsibilities
- Design Understanding: Grasp the project requirements, whether derived from performance specifications or knowledge of building systems and standards.
- Systems Knowledge: Understand existing building systems that need to be retained or modified during the project, including thorough investigation of as-built documentation.
- Service Pathways: Clarify the layout for services, risers, and connections to support the design development process.
- Design Collaboration: Work with the design team to ensure a harmonious design that minimizes system modification.
- Project Planning: Develop a services plan and ensure clear communication with the broader team, both internal and external.
- Supply Chain Coordination: Set clear system parameters and work with the supply chain to establish cost and design proposals for tender submissions.
- Technical Support: Offer technical guidance to the supply chain during proposal development.
- Quality Assurance: Validate the design and cost proposals from the supply chain to ensure robustness.
- Problem Solving: Provide plain-English explanations for project developments, risks, and challenges, raising issues promptly with the wider team.
- Project Handover: Assist in the detailed handover to the delivery team, ensuring complete information transfer about the building and project plan.
Ideal Candidate
- Experience: Proven success in managing office fit out projects.
- Knowledge: In-depth understanding of M&E services, including new build and refurbishment.
- Experience: At least 5 years of relevant experience.
