Form of workThis is a permanent Mechanical Building Services Trainee Engineer position, paying between £25K to $35K, based in Wallingford, Oxford - Suitable for a Building Services engineering graduate.
Main Responsibilities:
This is a new role, working alongside our Estimator to assist and learn project pricing whilst carrying out our Mechanical design work and liaising with our external designers, it is essential to have mechanical engineering knowledge and preferably in Building Services, experience and willingness to use Autocad is essential.
Strong attention to detail with a methodical approach to work would be required as is somebody who can commute to OX10 9FE easily and is looking to build a career inside an established yet ever-evolving business.
Main Responsibilities:
? To carry out mechanical design and autocad work for high end residential projects
? Liaise with internal construction and estimating as well as outsourced designers and clients, sub-contractors.
? To assist to tender Mechanical works for high-end residential projects including the incorporation of specialist services: o Heating o Domestic Services o Ventilation o Air Conditions o BMS Controls
? Design
Work will consist of the following, experience in all is not required, but a willingness to learn is:
o Sizing pipework and pumps
o Heatloss calculations.
o Water usage calculations
o Ventilation design
o AC design
o Above ground drainage
o Spacial coordination
o Plant selection
? Manage and maintain the pre-tender processes such as takeoffs and obtaining quotes, and engage with colleagues to make this happen.
? Using Google Suite to a high level.
? To have a necessary understanding and maintain knowledge to enable a comprehensive prime cost price to be placed against all Mechanical services.
? To have a comprehensive understanding of the "estimation" tendering software and all of its functions.
? To manage the delivery of tenders to the client to ensure they are delivered on time and to a professional and clear standard
? To remain professional and build relationships with work colleague
